The Tivoli Theatre Wimborne 22/9/00
Opening event of the 2000 Wimborne Arts Festival from a review by 'LH" in the Wimborne Magazine It's only occasionally that you go to the theatre and come back buzzing with excitement because the show far exceeded your expectations This was one of those occasions. This was true entertainment that appealed to all ages. It was amusing, thought provoking and nostalgic and brought memories flooding back."

- from a review by Annette Keen in the Eastbourne Gazette 20/4/01

Rock and Roll Legend
We know this was a big success not only because of the response of the packed house, nor because a large number of the new CDs were sold (The making of Pop Goes The Century) but also because the first person into the dressing room afterwards was Lonnie Donegan. He is still performing himself with great style at the age of 7O and he made a point of saying lots of nice things about the show and spending 45 minutes with the Boys saying them. So now there is a treasured piece of paper on which is written:
There is a magic on the stage, which draws the audience in to become part of the 'creation'." Lonnie Donegan

A fortnight later the Bakelite Boys were playing in an elaborate, hi-tech tent on the banks of the Avon to a highly volatile audience of actors and their friends as part of the Royal Shakespeare Company's Summer Ball. To have emerged from that 'cauldron' with a standing ovation from the more celebrated of their peers suggests The Bakelite Boys are capable of entertaining the most demanding of audiences.
