BIOGRAPHY.

Prelude's first album, 'How Long Is Forever?', featured their acapella version of Neil Young's ' After the Goldrush' and in 1973/7 4 this became their first hit single.

Nationwide tours with Ralph McTell, Joan Armatrading and Don McLean followed, as well as four more albums. In 1981 Brian's song, 'Platinum Blonde', was another hit,   followed soon after by their beautiful version of Roy Orbison's 'Only The Lonely'

In 1985 Ian left the group. A couple of years later Brian and Irene were joined by North East guitar picker, Jim Hornsby. They became a quintet in 1996 when they were joined by keyboard player, Tony Davis, and bass guitarist, Chris Ringer. Together they produced the critically acclaimed album, 'Good For You'.

The new Millenium finds Prelude as a trio once again. And so almost thirty years on, Prelude are still thrilling audiences with their songs, superb harmonies and Irene's beautiful voice.

As Brian's song, 'The Rhythm of Guitars' says,…. 'the best is yet to come my friend'!
